How the Feature Works: #

Dormefy’s Balance Overview feature allows both dorm members and managers to get an instant snapshot of their financial status within the dorm environment. For members in a shared living dorm model, the feature provides access to their total balance, total costs, and available balance. If a member’s balance goes negative (due to costs exceeding their deposit), they can view their due balance clearly on their dashboard (e.g., -$40).

Managers have a broader view, allowing them to see the total dorm balance and each member’s individual balance from their own dashboard. This feature ensures transparency and helps streamline financial management for both dorm members and managers, solving the pain point of tracking dorm-related expenses accurately and efficiently.

How to View Balance #

For Members: #

• Login to Dormefy:
  Members log in to the Dormefy web or Android app.
• Check Balance on Dashboard:
  Members can view their last balance at the top right corner of their dashboard, next to the user icon, labeled as “My Balance”. If the member has a negative balance, it will be displayed as a due balance (e.g., -$40). Additionally, the available balance is displayed on a dedicated card in the dashboard, giving a clear overview of their financial status.

For Managers: #

• Login to Dormefy:
  Managers log in to Dormefy using their credentials.
• View Dorm Balance:
  Managers can view the total dorm balance and any overdue balance in the top right corner of their dashboard, next to the user icon.

View Individual Member Balances:
To view each member’s balance, managers can click the “Deposit“ option from the left sidebar. On this page, managers can see a detailed breakdown of all member balances, including their last balance, deposits, withdrawals, and any pending or overdue amounts, all at a glance.
