How the Feature Works #
Dormefy’s Auto Meal Assigning feature is designed to streamline meal management by automatically adding meals to every member’s meal counter for an entire month or quarter. This eliminates the need for dorm managers to manually input meal counts for each member, making the process more efficient.
This feature works in two ways:
- Automatic Assignment at the Start of a New Month/Quarter
When the manager starts a new month or quarter, meals are automatically assigned to every active member’s meal counter, based on the dorm settings. - Manual Assignment of Meals
Dorm managers can manually assign meals to members individually through the Meal Counter. The number of meals assigned is dependent on the setting called Set Default Meal Count for Members. This setting determines how many meals are added per member and can be adjusted according to dormitory needs.

- The Set Default Meal Count for Members setting is located in the Dormitory section of Dormefy. By default, the value is set to 1 but can be adjusted by the manager.
- Meals are assigned automatically only when a member’s Meal Status is set to On.
- Dorm managers have the flexibility to set the default meal count to 0, 1, or any other value that suits the dormitory’s needs.
How to Configure Auto Meal Assigning: #
- Setting Default Meal Count
- Log into Dormefy.
- From the left sidebar, go to Dormitory > Dorm List.
- From the desired dormitory by clicking the edit icon.
- Scroll to the Set Default Meal Count for Members option and set the default meal count (default is 1).
- Turning On Member Meal Status
- Navigate to the Members section in the sidebar.
- Click the edit icon next to a specific member.
- In the Member Status field, set the status to On and click Update.
- Starting a New Month/Quarter
- From the left sidebar, go to Dormitory > Dorm List.
- Select the desired dormitory by clicking the eye view icon.
- Click the Start New Month button to automatically assign meals to all members.
- Assigning Meals Individually
- Go to Meal Counter from the left sidebar.
- Here you will see the list of active members. Go to the desired member and click the plus icon in the action column. The meal will be assigned instantly.
How can I adjust the default meal count for members? #
You can adjust the default meal count by navigating to Dormitory > Dorm List. Select the desired dormitory, click the Edit icon, and modify the Set Default Meal Count for Members as needed.
What should I do if a member’s meal status is not applying the auto meal assignments? #
Ensure that the member’s “Meal Status” is set to “On.” You can check and update this setting by going to Members, selecting the specific member, and changing their status.
