How to Delete a Member from Your Dorm in Dormefy

In a shared living environment, deleting a member who is no longer part of the dorm requires careful management. Dormefy’s Delete a Member feature allows you to remove members only after clearing all active operations related to that member. This feature ensures there are no unresolved meal counts, balances, or dorm-related tasks before deletion, preventing any operational disruptions.

How the Feature Works: #

When a resident or member no longer stays in your dorm, Dormefy allows you to delete them after completing necessary steps. Before deleting the member, Dormefy ensures that all operations, meal counts, and personal balances are properly adjusted to zero, safeguarding against incomplete processes.

How to Delete a Member: #

  1. From your Dormefy Admin Dashboard, click on Members from the left sidebar. You will see a list of all dorm residents or members.
  2. Find the member you want to delete and click the trash icon in the Action column.
  3. A confirmation message will appear. Click OK to confirm, and the member will be deleted immediately, along with all their information.

Important Note: Once deleted, the member’s information cannot be restored.

Members are connected to meal costs, dorm operations, and other related activities within the dormitory. Before deleting a member, Dormefy will ensure that all active operations are cleared. You will need to adjust the member’s meal counter and personal balance to zero to proceed with the deletion.

Dormefy will warn you with a toast notification if you try to delete a member who still has pending operations. In such cases, you must first deactivate the member by reducing their meal counter and personal balance to zero. After making these adjustments, Dormefy will allow you to delete the member.

Toast Notification During Deactivation: #

If a member still has active meals or balances, you will receive a toast notification saying, “Adjust deposit and meal counter to ‘0’ before member deactivation.” This notification means you must ensure the member’s meal count and balance are Adjust to zero before proceeding with the deactivation and subsequent deletion.

Why can’t I delete a member immediately? #

Dormefy prevents you from deleting a member until all active operations, meal counts, and personal balances are cleared to avoid any operational disruptions. Make sure to deactivate the member first and set all balances to zero.

Can I recover a member’s information after deletion? #

No, once a member is deleted from Dormefy, their information is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
